Group dances the day away

04 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
BRIANNAN Warden gave her mum Michelle the biggest cuddle after the Hi-Energy Festival at the Hubertus Country Club last weekend.

``She said thank you so much for this mum,'' Mrs Warden said.

She organised the festival with other parents for the kids from Dance NRG.

Mrs Warden said the whole community had a good time and the group was able to raise a $5000 profit on the day.

``The money will go towards their trip to America so this will pay for two kids,'' she said.

The dance school is still trying to raise $120,000 to send the performance group to the United States in 2011.

``All the kids had a ball and they danced all day even in the heat,'' she said.

The day included amusements rides, face painting, a Chevy car show, dance performances, raffles and a market stall. Mrs Warden said they are hoping to make it an annual event. She said dancing has taught her daughter discipline and given her confidence and increased self esteem.

``Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the kids, it meant a lot to them and a big thank you to the Hubertus club,'' Mrs Warden said.
