HOW do you keep a room full of Greek people happy? Let them talk.
``We have a lot of things to say,'' George Kantassis said.
He attends the mature-aged Greek support group in Liverpool which has been running for six weeks.
It's held Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm at the Hilda M Davis Community Centre.
``It's such an experience, we are all undeniably happy because we get to meet with our friends and meet new people.
``I look forward to coming every week.
``There was one guy who came from the same village as me, I hadn't seen him for years and I came here and all of a sudden I saw him.''
The group is run by Margaret Koutzoumis-Dunne and Eliza Kallis from the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW.
``It's a social group, we have guest speakers, information topics in things they're interested in and we have excursions and offer counselling and casework,'' Ms Koutzoumis-Dunne said.
``When we looked at the statistics of growth, Liverpool housed the most Greek aged people next to Marrickville and Canterbury.
``There are people who come that are isolated and normally wouldn't go to a group.
``We want to get them into the community and make sure they know what is happening.''
Mr Kantassis said people come from different services such as Centrelink.
``Sometimes we have university professors that teach us about different parts of Greece.''
