FORMER Liverpool Champion photographer Angelo Velardo's exhibition 200 Faces will open at Casula Powerhouse this Friday.
Mr Velardo, who lives in Casula, said he found it a challenging task to shoot all 200 photographs for the exhibition, with which he aims to give an insight into what Liverpool's population looks like in its bicentennial year.
``It was exhausting, so I'm glad it's all done, but it was also a lot of fun,'' he said.
``I found it interesting to meet all the people I photographed and I got to see the wide variety of people we have in Liverpool, which was a wonderful experience.
``The Powerhouse has been really supportive through the whole process and I'm really grateful for that.''
Local residents were invited to have their photos taken at the Powerhouse.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the exhibition captured the dynamism of Liverpool as one of the most culturally diverse areas in NSW.
``Our bicentenary tagline is `blending cultures, building people' and 200 Faces will be a tribute to the many people who work, live and play together,'' Ms Waller said.
Mr Velardo grew up in the area on a farm in Rossmore and said he started experimenting with photography when he was young.
He has always lived and worked in Liverpool and loves the area.
``Because this year is Liverpool's 200th birthday, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to be involved and capture what's great about Liverpool its people,'' Mr Velardo said.
``And I feel I've done that with this exhibition.''
