Attempted armed robbery at servo

19 Nov, 2009 09:44 AM
Three petrol station employees were threatened with a wooden stick during an attempted armed robbery in Liverpool last night.

At 11.20pm, two men and one woman were inside the service station on the Hume Highway when they were confronted by a man wearing a white ski mask and armed with a metre-long wooden stick.

Police said the man threatened the trio but fled the scene empty-handed.

Nobody was injured and officers from Liverpool Local Area Command established a crime scene.

They were given a detailed description of the offender and have seized CCTV from the service station.

The man is described as being of African appearance and was wearing a black hooded-jumper with white writing on the back, black pants and white sneakers.

Anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery or who knows the identity of the offender should immediately contact Liverpool Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

All information provided can be treated in the strictest confidence.
